Too much
Years ago I used to ask myself why I was always working flat out and never had time to go shopping for clothes when at the same time I had colleagues and friends who were even busier than me that were always on trend and clearly spent a fair bit of time shopping. Once upon a time, you couldn’t just buy stuff online so you actually had to go to the shops to find your favourite outfits.
Even then I would get “annoyed” with people who were so busy they never answered the phone or couldn’t find time to get back to me.
Things appear to be even worse now, especially when you have to deal with people who work for companies and want to give the impression that they’re “busy”.
But I’m starting to see some cracks in the system:
The article in the New York Times “The case for Doing Nothing” by Olga Mecking
The article on one of the online magazines of Digtal360 (agendadigitale.eu) about “Minimalismo digitale” by Giovanni Salmeri
A WhatsApp message from a client:
Do you think working less would be good or bad for me? :) I swear I could kill those women who say they wouldn’t know what to do with themselves if they didn’t work. I sleep well at night, have healthy bowel movements and my skin looks like it did 10 years ago. I look and feel like a different person

People need to reclaim their lives and their time, relationships, body, mind and spirit. They need to find a balance.
If you think about it, all these articles that talk about personal well-being seem to offer suggestions that skirt round the issue:
- Learn to breathe
- Go to mountains and valleys not spoiled by mass tourism
- Look at the ingredients in the food you eat and check where your vegetables come from
- Consider where the clothes you wear are produced and processed
- Try mindfulness
- ...
Everyone expresses it in their own way and some people certainly do so more effectively, but… there’s no doubt that nowadays we could all benefit from going back to basics.
At GoodGoing! when it comes to work, we look specifically at every individual, and help him/her to promote themselves in a concrete and balanced way so they can find their “own” path, and “success”.
We believe in this and we believe this is the correct approach if really you want to leave your mark.
